For The UnifiedField´s 4th upcoming event in Indonesia on Sunday 06th June 2010 we were very proud to present the video work Bubble by Zeena Parkins and a concert by Singaporean theremin experimentalist Shaun Sankaran

About the artists…

Zeena Parkins, sometimes better known as one of the most accomplished and innovative instrumentalist of her generation (G. Currin of Pitchfork) for her solo harp work as well as collaborations with Björk, Yoko Ono, Thurston Moore, Ikue Mori, Christian Marclay, John Zorn, Matmos, Cynthia Madansky, Angelika Brudniak, Isabelle Roselini, Merce Cunningham (and the list goes on!) will present her video piece Bubble, a work which investigates the sense of touch which strangely mediates the sight-sound-fiction-reality.

Bubble is a 9 minutes HD video by Zeena Parkins performed by Zeena and the Plastic Girls with Erin Cornell and Eleanor Hullihan filmed and edited by MadAngel Angelika Brudniak and Cynthia Madansky in 2009.

As for the concert part of the night, we’ll be treated to the mystical sounds of Shaun Sankaran as he brings us all on a sensual sojourn across unexplored terrains with a mysterious Russian instrument. Shaun will also be giving a small presentation at some point during the night about the theremin as well as inviting audiences to have a little play of this strange electro-magnetic thing. Shaun Sankaran has presented his brand of experimental sounds across the globe under his various incarnations as Mindfuckingboy, Sankara and as the bassist/guitarist of the electro-punk project Elekore.
